The lightly tapered seven cell Spectre is one of the most popular canopies we have ever produced. A surprisingly flat glide and soft on-heading openings (with plenty of snivel!) make the Spectre the canopy of choice for the professional cameraman. The Spectre is also known for its smooth progressive response on the toggles. If predictable is your middle name, the Spectre is your canopy.

Thunder, Lightning, Wind and Rain... oh, the canopy. With great openings and a powerful flare at landing, this truly is the seven cell that thinks it's a nine cell. In some respects similar to the Spectre, the Storm has a shorter snivel, a steeper and faster glide, wider speed range and more dynamic flare. Looking for a reliable canopy that will keep you challenged? Have you been searching for the perfect wingsuit canopy? Considering some occasional CF, but not ready to buy a second canopy? Well, here you go. We would have called it the "Perfect Storm" but that was already taken...

"I want a canopy designed specifically for canopy relative work, a canopy that has proven itself in everything from rotation to world record formations"...

If you are serious about C.R.W., then there really is only one choice, the P.D. Lightning. The Lightning is not just a "regular canopy with C.R.W. lines", it is a specific canopy for a specific job...canopy relative work. C.R.W. requirements are unique. The Lightning is designed and built to satisfy those requirements. From pilot chute and bridle retraction system, to heavy duty reinforcement, special trims to tail pockets, the Lightning has what you need to perform at your best. The Lightning is available in all Zero P construction (terminal deployments are NOT RECOMMENDED on all Zero P Lightings), combination (Zero P top skin only), or entirely low porosity fabric (F111 type).

There are a variety of trims, line lengths and other options to tailor to your specific needs. Whether it's setting world records for the largest formation or the fastest rotation times, the Lightning is the #1 C.R.W. canopy in the world. If canopy relative work is your specialty then the Lightning is waiting for you!

The Performance Designs Lightning...C.R.W. Performance!

The realm of parachute accuracy is one of the oldest and largest skydiving disciplines in the world. Most of the jumpers in this part of our sport are still jumping designs that were created more than 30 years ago, none of which are Performance Designs products.

About three years ago PD began pursuing a new challenge; the traditional accuracy canopy with its very different aerodynamics. We forged into what would be, for us, previously uncharted territory with the assistance of national champion Jimmy Hayhurst, a well known coach and accuracy canopy expert. We also enlisted the assistance of Cheryl Stearns, a world renowned competitor and multiple world champion.

After many different prototypes, numerous test jumps, and countless design improvements we are delighted to introduce the Zero, an innovative and highly capable canopy for the traditional accuracy competitor. The Zero is designed primarily for precision accuracy competition and also accuracy type demonstration jumps.

From openings to landings: Stress-Free Fun.

The Pulse is a lightly elliptical nine cell canopy designed for the active intermediate to experienced "fun jumper." Pack volume has been reduced significantly by combining our proprietary low bulk fabric technology with our well-known Zero-P fabric. The Pulse can give you stress free on heading openings, a very flat glide and easy landings. It is highly responsive, very capable, and lots of fun to fly.

Ribs 2R-18R and Bottom panels 1B-9B are only available in White

The Sabre2 is a powerful semi-elliptical nine cell canopy that provides performance that is exciting and fun for current intermediate and experienced jumpers. It feels aggressive at higher wing loadings but quite tame when lightly loaded. Sabre2 openings are soft and consistent, with proper technique during deployment and packing. The Sabre2 is well known for its powerful flare and wide speed range. With a steeper glide and a longer recovery arc than the flatter gliding Pulse or Stiletto, the Sabre2 is an excellent choice for those wanting a bit more aggressive piloting experience but not interested in the demands of the Katana or Velocity. The Performance Designs Sabre...the evolution of performance!

The lightly tapered nine cell Silhouette is designed to provide responsive handling, even at lower wing loadings often preferred by more conservative pilots. Due to the combination of fabrics used in the Silhouette it is easy to pack, provides consistent openings with a short snivel, and more than ample flare power. The Silhouette is a good choice for those seeking a canopy that is practical yet fun to fly.

The Navigator is a state of the art student canopy. It offers an unparalleled combination of performance, forgiveness and durability, while providing the ability to raise the level of student canopy piloting instruction. With its cutting edge design and construction, we are confident it will outperform any other student canopy and maintain this performance over a much longer life span. The Navigator, along with a progressive student canopy training program, will create safer and more competent canopy pilots. This is something that will benefit us all.

The Performance Designs Navigator: Student Performance!

At the time of its release the fully elliptical nine cell Stiletto was initially seen as the highest performance canopy available to the expert pilot. With the improvements in canopy control technique over the years, the Stiletto has now become a very popular choice for many experienced jumpers. For those who appreciate responsive handling, snappy turns, flat glide, and great landing capabilities, the Stiletto is a fun and practical way to end your skydive. Stiletto: Flown by more national and world champions than any other canopy in the world

So you've decided to step it up from your Sabre2... The Katana is a fully elliptical nine cell canopy that is the ride of a life time for the experienced canopy pilot. Warning: this canopy is not for the faint of heart. Soft smooth openings, long control range, steep dive, light front riser pressure and powerful flare make the Katana an excellent choice for those looking for the engine to push their limits. Whether you're considering an 83 or a 170 square foot wing, the Katana can provide the canopy enthusiast with the ride they are looking for now, and will continue to challenge their piloting skills for years to come. The Katana may look similar to a Stiletto at first glance, but beneath the surface they are two completely different machines!

Performance Designs Velocity has set the standard for crossbraced canopy performance. This canopy is designed specifically to satisfy pilots who have already been jumping high performance elliptical canopies at high wing loadings and are looking for something more. Its rigid crossbraced structure and extremely responsive controls provide a feeling of direct “connection” to your body. Incredibly clean aerodynamics give this powerful wing the largest flight speed range available and amazing performance opportunities in the right hands. From opening to landing this is a very capable but very demanding canopy. The Velocity continues to allow highly experienced pilots to explore a range of ram air flight never before seen possible

From the inventors of the patented crossbraced canopy, once again we're raising the bar in high performance canopy piloting. We've come a long way since the Excalibur of 1989 to bring you the Competition Velocity. This time we've designed a canopy purely for the competitive swooper. Will you be looking up at the podium, or standing on it? In the exciting discipline of Canopy Piloting, a fraction of a second or an extra meter can make the difference between being a hero... or a zero. Technique, determination, practice, persistence, and talent are essential. What else makes the vital difference? The relentless power of the Competition Velocity. The podium is right there... Will you be on it?
