Voodoo Curv



The Voodoo Curv design allows a smooth airflow over the back of the rig and jumper in any freefall attitude.
The Voodoo Curv incorporates the Bio Curv backpad where the profile of the backpad, instead of being straight, is curved inward at the midpoint and follows the natural curve of the back. This allows the containers to hug the back intimately and eliminate the gap between the back and the rig.

This then allows for an increase of approximately 10% in the available volume for each main container size with no increase in width or length.
A totally new concept is the “Bio-Yoke” configuration (Patent Pending). This design concept incorporates a secondary shoulder yoke that holds the containers higher on the back and relieves the pressure of the regular shoulder yoke with its associated webbing and hardware. The Bio-Yoke spreads the load evenly across the back and shoulders.
The fit of the Voodoo Curv is more akin to wearing a vest or backpack than putting on an older style rig. With the distribution of the weight across the entire back, the perceived weight of the system is less than the actual weight.
The inside of the yoke and leg pads are built with an inside seam resulting in greater comfort.
The main container side flaps incorporate specially designed end tabs that result in a lower profile of the main container.

The upper harness is built from TY-8 webbing for comfort and flexibility.
The leg straps are built from TY-7 webbing backed with TY-12 to preclude slippage of the stainless leg adapters.

he 3-ring geometry has been changed to slightly lower the 3-ring location for a more comfortable seated position during canopy flight.
The lower hip ring geometry has been changed to allow more flexibility of the horizontal back strap, allowing the containers to seek a more natural location on the back.

The leg strap junction has been totally re-designed to provide greater comfort and security around the upper thigh. This holds the leg strap and pad in place and prevents them from sliding down the leg in freefall. This virtually eliminates the need for the “bungee” cross connector.

The chest strap incorporates a webbing stow band to replace the elastic keepers that stretch out of shape or get lost.

The lower main lift webs incorporate slim line modular pockets for the 3-ring release and reserve ripcord.

The pockets also protect the lift web webbing from wear, abrasion and ultra violet degradation, and allow the main lift webs to stretch under high “G” loads, preventing hard pulls of the reserve and 3-ring release.

Accessories/Bonus features
Main risers and toggles.
TY-17 risers with stainless steel hardware, Velcroless toggles, dive loops, and anti-twist cable tubes are standard. Standard length is 19” with custom lengths available at no additional charge.

Main Pilot Chute and Bridle.

The standard main deployment configuration is a BOC throw-out pilot chute with a Hackey and kill-line collapsible bridle.

Reserve ripcord and 3-ring release handle.
The pillow ripcord and 3-ring release handle come standard with rubberized “Sure-Grip” fabric for a better grip under all conditions.

Slider stow
A specially designed loop is built into the top reserve flap which allows attachment of a custom designed magnetic slider stow without interfering with the operation of the reserve.

Hook Knife.

A high impact hook knife and pocket is integrated into the right side main lift web cover and 3-ring release pocket.




CPX - Accuracy

Background
The CPX accuracy harness and container system is the latest evolution of the Rigging Innovations Talon Classic first developed for the US Army Parachute Team Golden Knights in 1988. With major design input from Bill Jackson, the Talon Classic was the first piggyback system specifically designed to accommodate the large volume accuracy canopies and small to midsize ram air reserve canopies. RI continued to improve the system in 1995 as the Classic Pro and again in 2003 as the Classic Pro 3.0.

The time has come once more to advance harness and container technology needed for world class accuracy competition, and again RI has answered the call with revolutionary and innovative design concepts.

The Harness
The CPX continues the success of the original Talon Classic harness geometry for the 3-ring location.
The CPX continues the success of the original Talon Classic harness geometry for the 3-ring location. This location positions the 3-ring such that the jumper has a near perfect upright body position and allows for a totally unobstructed view through to the final foot placement on the target center.
The Multi-Flex articulated harness design, originally designed and patented by Sandy Reid, has become the world standard for virtually all sport parachute harnesses. The new CPX configuration, utilizes a new leg strap configuration originally developed in conjunction with the Voodoo Curv.
This design has proven to be significantly more comfortable and more secure around the upper thigh allowing for better leg movement during the final approach.

The Container
The first is the contoured Bio Curv backpad shaping that allows for the container to “conform” to the curve of the human back.

This allows the containers to be held tighter and more comfortably to the back, keeping the containers from moving either up and down or sideways. The Bio Curv backpad also allows for additional volume in the main container while keeping the profile flatter and cleaner, extremely important in maintaining the fit and balance of the containers.

The second is the use of the Bio-Harness Yoke system originally developed by Airborne Systems for use on the Raider Advanced Ram-Air Parachute System designed by Sandy Reid. The “Bio-Yoke” configuration works similar to modern backpack designs, holding the containers higher on the back while distributing the weight evenly across the shoulders and upper back.

This reduces the perceived and real weight of the container system. Between the Bio-Yoke and the Bio Curv backpad, the fit and feel of the larger volume containers feel more like a smaller skydiving rig.

The backpad and leg pads of the CPX utilize Space Foam for additional padding and breathability on the ground and in the aircraft. Internal seams around the neck and yoke of the backpad and inner leg of the leg pads provide greater stretch and comfort to the wearer.

The main container pin protector flap is secured with a magnetic closure system resulting in a flatter and better protected design

Bonus Features
The TY-8 main risers can be custom configured for length and configuration to match the needs and technique of the individual jumper. Specially designed hard toggles are standard.

The main deployment bag is available in different configurations according to the packing techniques of the jumper. A #8 grommet is standard allowing the bag to cover and collapse the main pilot chute during deployment.

Stainless steel harness hardware is standard for long term durability and wear.
The 3-ring and pillow ripcord configurations come standard with the Sure-Grip anti-slip material for a more positive grip in emergency situations.

The main bridle and pilot chute come standard with a high strength swivel at the base of the pilot chute to prevent the bridle from twisting up after deployment.
A Hackey is standard on the throw out pilot chute with other handles such as a Monkey Fist also available.

The BOC pocket has an innovative and simple closure flap that helps to secure the pilot chute in place and prevent it from creeping out.

A high strength hook knife is standard and built into the right side 3-ring pocket.

Talon FX

The Talon FX is a highly refined and polished upgrade to the Talon FS. Some of the design features immediately stand out and make for a cleaner and smoother look overall. In addition, there are numerous internal and construction changes that make it easier to pack and maintain as well as offer up to date safety improvements. The Talon FX offers these design changes as well as Stainless Steel hardware and Space foam as standard for one all inclusive price.

Sizes
The container sizes parallel those of the Talon FS. At the moment the Talon FX is available in the following sizes: FX00, FX0, FX1, FX2, FX5, FX6 and FX7.
Backpad & Riser Covers
The FX backpad/yoke configuration has been re-designed to have a much narrower upper yoke/shoulder area for a tighter fit over the shoulders. The use of the Space foam as a standard material contributes significantly to increased comfort and fit in this area. The hip pad/horizontal back strap has been re-designed for a greater surface area and holds the containers firmer to the back and prevents shifting in freefall. Space foam here also makes for a more comfortable fit. The main riser covers have been re-designed to integrate into the narrow yoke.

We have also designed a short yoke configuration for smaller bodied Individuals that allows for shorter harness sizing. This has been very well received by those who have jumped the configuration.

Reserve Container

The reserve container has been tweaked to make for a smoother fit. Internally, the Cypres installation has been modified to remove the #1 grommet from the bottom internal flap. The cutter channel has been changed to allow for better routing and cable protection. The cutter sleeve location now incorporates a webbing cover to protect the cutter from wear by the container and pilot chute grommets.

Main Container

The most noticeable change to the main container is the re-design of the main side flaps to integrate the main riser covers into a one piece design. This makes for a considerably smoother look and a better fit. Less sewing means less wrinkles. The revised side flap design, along with the new top reserve flap shape, presents a noticeably different look to the Talon FX.

The bottom of the main container has a different construction method that eliminates sewing lines, resulting in a smoother look. Internally, the bottom loop keeper elastic has been replaced with a tuck flap keeper.

Accessories
Main Deployment Bag
Depending on the size of the containers, the main bag configuration has been changed to what we refer to as a “drop-in” bag where the bridle grommet is upright in the container and the line stows are against the floor of the container. This provides a smoother bag extraction and is easier to pack since the packer/jumper does not have to rotate the bag into the main container. The “drop-in” bags have a graphic label on the top of the bag showing the stowing into the container. The longer and flatter size containers continue to use a conventional horizontal bag.

Reserve Deployment Bag
The reserve bag has undergone some subtle changes such as the Velcro on the line stow pouch. The hook Velcro is shielded with a cover to prevent the canopy lines from becoming snagged during packing. The bag shape has been fine tuned for a better fit in the reserve container.

Reserve Pilotchute
Our famous Stealth reserve PC has had the grommet in the top of the metal cap replaced with a size “O” stainless steel spur grommet and washer. This results in the top being stiffer and the heavier grommet is virtually immune from damage during packing.

Main Pilotchute & Bridle
The main pilotchute is made from ZP fabric and is available in a throw-out configuration with either a Hackey or a FreeFly handle. A POP configuration is also offered. The pilotchutes come in 26”, 30”, and 33” depending on the size of the container system. The Kill-line bridle is standard.

Main Risers & Toggles

The FX comes standard with the Mini 3-ring configuration and TY-17 main risers. The risers have been re-designed to incorporate built-in dive loops that extend to the outside of the riser so they are easily grasped.

The cable channel has been changed to reduce the amount of visible cable between the grommet and the mouth of the channel to only ¾”. Teflon anti-twist tubes are standard.

The main toggle keepers have been re-designed to replace elastic with webbing keepers and are now the best we have seen. Premature toggle release is virtually eliminated yet the toggles are easily released when needed. Overall, these are the closest to the perfect risers that we’ve seen.

Harness
The harness is identical with the original Voodoo configuration introduced in 2000. It is simply, the best on the market. The “V-flex” leg strap design stays in place and molds itself to the upper leg. The double wide leg strap, along with the Space foam padding, provides unparalleled comfort.

The Multi-flex main lift web design, with Stainless Steel rings at the chest and hips, is standard. The inset horizontal backstrap conforms to the body to hold the containers tightly in place in any attitude. The larger horizontal pads with Space foam add to the comfort.

The reserve risers now use a Velcroless toggle system identical to the main risers to eliminate steering line damage during use.

P-124 Aviator


The P-124 Aviator Emergency Parachute System is the first major The P-124 Aviator is the culmination of the efforts of Precision Aerodynamics and Rigging Innovations Inc. With excellence in their respective areas of expertise, Precision designed the parachute and Rigging Innovations the specialized harness and container system. Together, the complementary components combine to produce a system that is lightweight, comfortable, simple to use, and provides a degree of safety and performance unmatched by existing round parachute systems.

The Canopy
The heart of the system is the P-124 ram-air parachute. Available in several sizes to optimize performance under various wing loading parameters, the custom airfoil shape allows for rapid inflation coupled with docile handling characteristics.

The 246 and 280 sq ft canopies have a unique modulated control system, which allows for their use by aircrew personnel with minimal additional training required over and above what they receive on current round parachute systems.
The 179 and 212 sq ft canopies have a standard ram-air control system and are limited for use only by experienced ram-air pilots or those with appropriate training.

The Container & Harness
If the canopy is the heart, then the Aviator harness and container system is the body that provides substance to the system. Drawing on years of harness and container design as well as an innovative new use of the patented articulated harness configuration (Patent #5,277,348), Rigging Innovations has developed a system that is on the cutting edge of harness design.

The container is a one-pin design that utilizes a shaped freebag deployment system that ensures a clean, fast, controlled deployment, with the high drag Stealth™ pilot chute providing fast, positive launches. Coupled with the shaped deployment bag, the pilot chute is compressed within the center of the bag in such a manner that it virtually disappears. This allows for maximum comfort to the wearer and minimum wear on the system.

The harness is the latest in comfort, simplicity, and ease of use. The patented Flex-Ring ™ concept has been adapted to create a simple to use adjustable harness that fits the complete range of today’s aircrew personnel from the 2nd percentile female to the 98th percentile male. The Adjust-A-Tab™ harness adjustment system allows for quick symmetrical adjustment without excess straps getting in the way.

Sport
The Sport Aviator configuration is the latest evolution of the Aviator. Built upon the original and proven Aviator design, the Sport series utilizes smaller canopies derived from skydiving reserve canopies to provide greater maneuverability and smaller pack volume. Because of the nature of these canopy designs, the Sport Aviator model may only be used by individuals who either have ram-air jumping experience such as skydiving, or have received special training in the use and performance of these canopies.

The harness is a fixed size design derived from high performance skydiving harnesses. Custom built to the measurements of the user, it eliminates excess hardware and webbing to provide for maximum comfort to the user.
The Sport Aviator is currently produced only in a back parachute configuration for use in seats in an upright or reclined attitude. The Sport Aviator is especially suitable for aircraft such as the Extra and Sukhoi. Rigging Innovations sponsors Kirby Chambliss, 4 time US Aerobatic Champion and current member of the Red Bull Aerobatic Team.
